Peter Turnbull
Biography
Contact: 02 99601113
Peter Turnbull was born with a silver paintbrush in his mouth. His Victorian great-grandfather was Scotland’s premier scenery painter, and his mother was “hung” in London’s Royal Academy. When young, Peter received sketching advice from his father’s friend and neighbour, Ernest Shepard, famous for his illustrations in Winnie-the-Pooh and Wind in the Willows. Peter received tuition at school where his tutor was Ted Constable, descendant of John Constable. He also did a short evening course at the National Art School. Peter’s artwork is therefore intuitive, so that he tends to paint or draw anything at any time with any implement in any medium.
